I did the 50 hour this week on my CK-20, manual trans. It took a good 2 hours.
I found quite a bit of metal on the transmission/hyd. magnetic drain plug. Mostly whiskers of metal, no chips. I pulled all four drain plugs. One caution, some of the washers on the drain plugs are painted to the tractor and some come off with the plug.I found one in the oil drain pan after I had reinstalled the plug. With the backhoe off and a new filter it took the entire 5 gallons. I used Deere Hygard low viscosity for the temp. range and I hoped it might improve the dump speed of the loader but no luck. Still painfully slow.
The oil in the front axle was quite dirty, I replaced the factory(hyd.trans.oil) with 90 wt.
I sent an engine oil sample to Blackstone for analysis.
I was pleased to see that the fit and finish under the tractor was good.
I will post the results of the oil analysis.

I'm at 62 hours on my 3054 and haven't done the initial 50 hr hydraulic oil change yet. I'm waiting for some better weather since I don't have a garage. The new oil is on hand and waiting to be put in. Plus, I need to go to Sears and get a set of metric wrenches. My metric tools don't go large enough for the hydraulic sump plugs.

I did do the initial engine oil/filter change as recommended at 35 hrs.

My grease gun gets regular workouts.

When I did the first ten-hour maintenance on my snow blower a few weeks ago, I found that the drive chain had stretched considerably. Now that I've tightened it, it runs a bit quieter and I'm sure is subject to less wear.

More snow to blow this evening. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I did my 50 hour service on my CK20J (manual), I had about an 1/8 of a teaspoon of metallic mush adhered to the magnet. I'm thinking that this was normal. I used all of the Castrol Agri-Trans plus fluid from a 5 gallon pale. I did not notice that my front axle fluid was all that dirty although it certainly not nearly as clean as the hydraulic fluid was.

I put Amsoil 75W90 in the front axle and plan to put Amsoil in the engine at the 3rd change at 200 hours. I'm at a 125 hours now and everything is working fine.

So am I to understand that the magnetic drain plug on the transmission is standard on the CK20? If so........ cool. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I look forward to my first service, as I worked six oil filters one hydraulic and one fuel filter into my deal. Also a fresh oil change feels nearly as good as a full woodshed. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The CK-20 has 4 drain plugs for the hyd./trans. The larger is magnetic.
