Getting close to my 50hr service. Wondering how much hydraulic fluid I can expect to lose when changing the two filters. What amount of fluid would be a good idea to have on hand.

I just did the 50 hour service on My BIL's L3200hst and I used the KØUA method of mitigating fluid loss and lost no more than a couple of ounces of oil not counting what is actually in the old filters themselves. So overall way less than 2 quarts of fluid. KØUA method of mitigating fluid loss. Procure a #8 machine screw. Screw it into the rubber crooked end of the hydraulic "tank" vent plug. The plug is located under the seat on the left side of the tractor. It is black rubber and and looks like a question mark. Dont forget to remove screw when when finished with changing the filters. The methodology of how this works, is that the "tank" or transmission housing is basically airtight. When you stop up the vent on the topside of the tank it is very difficult for fluid to pour out the bottom side thru the filter ports.
It also helps to park on an incline with filter uphill. I barely lost a drop when changing filters on my last tractor. Set to do my L 3200 in the next 3-5 hours.
