New poster, hello all.

Last week I purchased and took delivery of a new 5525. After allowing it to warmup I began punching some gate post holes with my 12" auger. While moving locations I would increase the throttle and anytime I go above 1500 RPMS I get billowing plumes of blueish white smoke and the engine misses a little. Drop the throttle below 1500 it stops, back above 1500 it smokes. Oil is fine, coolant is fine, drained a little fuel and no water present. Engine temp is at operating temperature. Is this normal on an engine with 3.5 hours?

Dealer is closed until Wed, just thought I'd ask yall.

Thanks

Flawton,
My 6520 didn't smoke at all. I never took it above 2000 rpm for the first 100 hours. Now I have 196 hours and run it wide open while using my backhoe.Do you smell cooking paint? The paint will heat and give off a smell for awhile.
hugs, Brandi

flawton,
Give your dealer a call, you are having a problem with your OSB sensor, or the injection timing is off. It should be a easy problem to correct, no big deal. Good luck with it!

Hey Brandi,
Where did you set your rpm while bush hogging for the first 100 hours? My 4530 has only 20 hours on it, and the rpm setting for the pto is at 2100. Should I lower it for the first 100 hours?

P.S. Flawton, sorry about hijacking your thread

Mud,
I keep right below 2000 rpm while mowing. Which wasn't the best cut. I have since learned that you run it hard to break it in after the first hand full of hours. Cummins says that also for the Dodge truck.
Merry Christmas hugs, Brandi

Flawton,
Ouch! That hurts. I had an hour to kill this morning, so I went by my dealer to talk shop with my friend and salesman. He wasn't there, but they were open for business. He is stuck up in Nebraska with weather. He had to stop on the way up last Saturday in OK City for weather.

Hey FL,
If you haven't already, log on the the 24/7 Owners Care page on Mahindra's website and type in your problem. They most likely won't know the problem but telling them where you purchased your tractor and the problem your having may get the ball rolling quicker. I had one issue with my new Mahindra a few weeks ago and logged on to their website. They assured me that they would contact my dealer. The next day, I received a call from my dealer. If they do contact your dealer, hopefully you'll be one of the first customers they call Jan. 2nd. It's worth a try!

let it really warm up, after the temp gage shows its warmed up the sputtering will stop, when the weather warms up you wont have to let the tractor warm up. when its cold out run it up to 1500 rpm and let it sit till it warms up or go ahead and start working, it will warm up.

Is is smoking and sputtering right when you crank it up or is it doing after it's been running 20 minutes or so?

If it's doing it right when you crank it up it is more than likely a bad KSB timer. If it does it after it's been running at least 20 minutes the timing needs adjusting.
