i know the difference in primary and secondary filters and their purpose, but i went to my dealer and got 2 sets of fuel filters for my first change. when i pulled the original filters from the factory both of them are paper secondary filters. Talked to my friend said his 6500 is the same way what gives are most like this from factory? Sure does run a lot better anyway just wondering

I am not sure what you are asking but mine are both paper as well. They had sent some other ones with me that were wrong, but then they brought out the paper ones.

I think:confused: I have the info on these fuel filters.

Looking at the filters from the side of the tractor:

The one on the Right side, (closest to the fuel tank), is the "Primary" fuel filter. It is part no. 00108244BR92. This has dark gray/blue material. A "Sock " type of filter.

The filter on the Left is the "secondary" fuel filter. It is part No. 001081778R93. This is a paper type filter
.

Mine also came with two paper filters, and when I looked at the replacements, one of them was the Sock type. This led me to inquire about why. Dealer didn't know. Had to contact "M".

All that being said, I was also told that there is absolutly nothing wrong with using the paper in both filters. Using the sock type in the primary, would perhaps be optimum.

yes i agree with you but was just wondering if everyone elses came from factory with two secondary filters and apparently they do. Nothing wrong with this, but you are going to be changing filters and losing power more often. But then again using two paper filters you will get less trash in injector pump. just a thought

Any after market fuel filters for a 6500 Mahindra. I'm also looking for after market headlight and turn signal. Should have bought the brush gaurd.

2007 4530---two paper filters from the factory. I can go into any of three different dealers and they will give me two paper filters. I think Mahindra changed this because the manual says two different filters. I haven't had any problems using the two paper. Mahindra did say though to change out the paper filters every six months, even if you weren't at the reccomended change as per the maintence schedule.
