To make cat 2 implements work on cat 1...you need to replace the pins on the implement with cat 1 pins.

Correct.

A cat II implement often has a bigger diameter hole in the implement, for a lift arm pin, than a cat I implement. In this case you need a cat 2 to 1 lift arm pin.

I think it's the one above. You just have to check the hole diameter. I switch these around all the time.

Also when using the 5 foot box blade I keep the loader on for the weight. Can do it without but "feel" I get better results with it on.

With 50hp, I wouldn't go over 7' with anything ground engaging. I pull an 850lb MF18 7' box blade with a 2wd 66hp NH 545D turbo and R1's. When that box is full, that's all it wants.

The tractor is about 7500lbs(no loader), 1150lbs of weights on the rears and 750lbs hanging off the front to keep the nose down. My 900lb Woods 7' RB750 back blade pulls a lot harder than the box blade when making an aggressive 4-5" cut. I'd imagine you'd need 80+hp and 4x4 to make the most of an 8' box or back blade.

I had a 7 ft box blade behind my JD 5400 68hp - loader - filled tires - when the box is full it will stop the tractor ! The rake is no big deal - 8 ft finish mower to - I think you might struggle with a 7 ft bush hog in thick thick stuff - a good quality 7-8 foot hog is heavy - you will feel it when you pick it up
