1998 7205 this spring my headlights quit working and I discovered the switch was broken in half. I ordered a replacement from Messicks and it was an exact match plug and play. Well now if I turn on my lights the tractor dies. You can hear the fuel shutoff relay click. I'm lost I even called Messicks tech line they had never heard of anything like this. Anyone else had an issue similer , any help?

Looking over my schematic for the 7200 series shows that there is a "safety relay", the glow plug relay, and an "ETR solenoid" (fuel shutoff, I assume). No other relays/solenoids. None of these should be directly affected by the headlight switch except they all share ground wiring, so I'd check that back to the big chassis/frame ground connection first. Since your headlight switch is a "combination" switch with the turn signals, does it behave differently if the turn signals are turned one way or the other? And does it make any difference if the headlights are on high beam or not?

And welcome to TBN from another Tennesseean! :welcome:

No difference in hi or low beam. Turn signals don't have any effect just my headlights. I can turn on the first notch which is dash light and a non operational work light without the tractor dying but as soon as the headlights come on... dead lights stay on tractor engine dies.
