I need some help identifying the bucket cylinder and/or the appropriate rebuild kit for my Ford 735 loader. The loader is on my Ford 4600 tractor. Loader has a small plate marked 19-525. I bought a shop manual and parts manual to try and identify the cylinders. I was able to identify my lift cylinders...no issues there. The problem is the bucket cylinders. They do not match the descriptions in the manual at all.

The manual says the bucket cylinder should have the following dimensions:

Retracted Length: 33 11/16"
Extended Length: 53 7/16"
Stroke: 19 3/4"
Bore: 2 3/8"
Rod diameter: 1 1/4"

However, my cylinders have the following dimensions: (Approximate, the best I could measure them.)

Retracted Length: 38"
Extended Length: 66"
Stroke: 28"
Bore: 2 1/2"
Rod diameter: 2"

My cylinders have the same old yellow paint as the rest of the loader, and seems to fit it well. I can't even see how a cylinder with the dimensions listed in the shop manual would fit? Anyone have the same issue, and know which repair kit to get?

Thank you.

Let me ask this question a little differently.

Did someone put the wrong cylinders on my loader at some point in the past?

How much curl should you have with the loader at no lift? For mine, when the loader is lowered, I can't curl the bucket much past flat with the ground...meaning I can't really scoop up much without it falling back out of the bucket.

Is it an original bucket? I have a similar problem. The PO put a new bucket on my 4400 and put the pin holes in the wrong location. I'll measure mine later today or tomorrow. I have a spare 735 loader sitting in the field and one on the 4400. What size rod is on the lift cylinders?

I'm really not sure if it is an original bucket or not. Probably not.

I went and took some measurements on my loader today, and the cylinder that came off is the correct size. No way I could make anything smaller fit.

The lift cylinder measures as follows:

rod diameter: 1 5/8"
bore: 2 3/8"
Retracted length: 46 5/8"
Extended length: 78 1/2"
Stroke: 31 7/8"

These are per the manual and match my measurements.
