Hi guys I've got a 7740 ford the pto kicks out after 20 minutes once it's at about 80 degrees operating temperature. Then it kicks back in slowly and eventually builds up speed again I've buy passed the electrics to rule that out. Put power straight to solinoid on pto still does the same thing. Could it be the solinoid in the pto breaking down or could it be a hydraulic issue. Once it kicks out it kicks out quicker and quicker

Reads like a failing solenoid coil. Take accurate resistance readings from the coil feed wire to ground both cold then hot when causing trouble. If the resistance changes significantly, you have the answer.

Would it be worth stripping clutch pack and checking the plates

Maybe to you. I like to troubleshoot first without doing exploratory surgery such as splitting a tractor.
