very well, especially with different tool options.

fishinfool,

The CEM36 weighs approx 1200 to 1300lbs depending on the mount. It is capable of running on auxilliary flows of 17-30 gpm. It has a 55cc variable displacement hydraulic motor. It can handle 5000psi so likely more than your machine can produce. Pape machinery is Fecon's closest dealer to you. They have one in stock. There are several working in California, Oregon, Washington. FYI many people say the CEM36 cuts as well as the skid steer mulcher.

The CEM discharges material downward rather than laterally and offers several tool options to tailor your tools to your job.

Maximum system pressure. The 55cc variable displacement motor in the CEM 36 is rated for 17-30 gpm and up to 5000 psi.

Thanks Mulch or he info,

As mentioned, disadvantage of smaller platform, doesn't handle heavier implements very well.
Flat terrain is no problem but steeps get a little tippy. Also trying to swing uphill requires that you draw the load in, cuts down on productivity.
Even at 1000 lbs (AFE) I'll take the thumb off to reduce weight if im working on steeps.

Think 1200 lbs will be too much, might upgrade to a larger platform soon and will reconsider.

Some vines if there really big can wrap up in a mulcher head and cause problems. Wisteria gives mine fits. Briars, muscadines and kudzu do not.

The good thing about the Torrent head is you are about half the weight of most other mulchers so it makes the swings much easier.

mulching consultant,
Can u get the CEM 36 with the FGT rotor?

Yes, the CEM 36 is available with the FGT rotor which allows you to run Samurai knife tools as well as the double carbides. The Samurais are dual sided knife tools that are flip-able so you get twice the normal life of a knife tool. They also have a wedged center which serves to split wood as it cuts.

Hi all haven't been on much lately. We FMI Sales took on Takeuchi in early april I purchased a TB285 for our rental fleet mounted a CEM 36 on it A little guarding and Ran it over the 4th of july about 20 hours myself I was impressed even though i'm really not that great with a mulched on an excavator. After that it was gone for the rest of the season and my customer purchased it 2 weeks ago. He also runs a Deere 160 doing mostly power line work with some pre commercial thinning. His comments ( 2' reach difference on the uphill side John Deere won same on the Fill slope side. Takeuchi does 10-20% less work on big stuff 6" and bigger but on the heavy brush and small trees it's a tie and the Takeuchi is 50% less to operate day in and day out.) If anyone would like to talk to him PM me. he put 550 hours on one small oil leak on broken side door window when the operator swung into a Limb no other repairs. 26GPM AT 4000PSI almost no loss of speed when boom up or crowding. 2.75 gallons of fuel per hour average. We are also building a cooler package and rear door for the TL12HF

Did you ever put a flow gauge on the machine?

It's the first thing we do when we start working on a new machine. And it's what we recommend whenever someone want to put a Mulching head on any brand excavator What the Manufacture says in their literature and what really is at the end of the stick is usually vastly different.
