I believe @mvoght has a EV Polaris UTV. Not sure if that experience would be similar to an ev atv??

Which atv are you looking at? I briefly searched over a year ago and couldn't find any 'name brand' brands or at least brands with some kind of real dealer network.

I have a battery powered side by side (UTV). It is a Landmaster “AMP”. It has a lithium ion battery, and has worked well for us. I live in a mountainous community with steep gravel roads. We used to get around on an old Club Car electric golf cart. I feel like the UTV is much safer.

We bought the Landmaster because it is made in the US and was available with a steel bed that converts to a back seat.

All of our friends in our community that have UTVs have gas ones. Kawasaki, John Deere, Honda, and Can Am. We bought electric because of the noise factor. When riding in our friends’ UTVs, you have to shout to talk to each other. I don’t care for the exhaust smell either.

Do you get much cold weather? Battery performance cold vs normal? Can you run it all day on one charge? Hilly terrain? Downhill loaded braking performance?

Those kinda intrigue me.

I can't find any either. You'd think that battery ATVs would be perfect for small farm use where you're usually running it for only a few minutes at a time and only a few miles a day.

The only ones I could find was on utube videos of the best atv's of 2023 or 2o24. Never heard of the ones listed there

I haven't heard of any battery powered ATVs, only side by sides. Owners of the battery powered side by sides really like them - but range is only about 40 miles or so. That would never work for me; a lot of my rides go for well over 100 miles in a day. Range on my Defender is at least 150 miles. Very remote country - usually at least 50 miles from the nearest gas station...much further to any place I could charge an electric UTV.

Very interesting. Is it 4wd? That's a must for where we are.

It is 4WD (selectable); and you can lock the rear differential.

Chris - We do get cold weather here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The manufacturer recommends not using the UTV below 0; and not charging below freezing. Colder weather does affect performance and range. For my use, I have not found it to be a problem. My elevation is 4400’. It can get down to 0 in the winter; but extreme cold is not typical. Performance on hills is good. Downhill braking is helped my regenerative braking. It has 4 wheel disc brakes.

Stated range is 40 miles. The terrain where I use the UTV is extremely steep, and accordingly the range is less.

Recommended not charging below freezing? Ouch. That excludes a large portion of the US
