Like the title says. Almost 8 months ago my wife and I completed our safety course and filed the paperwork. My license showed up in the mail yesterday.... No sign of the wife's yet. I actually got a call from the local PD asking why I did not disclose that I was cited for operating a vehicle after suspension..... In 1986...Wow! I had to write a letter and explain that I had forgotten that episode almost years ago. I guess I'm glad they are thorough with background checks, I think they should be as thorough with EBT and illegals. Oh we'll... Time to go shopping!

The process is a little easier/faster here, after 8 hour class and the shooting portion the next day, you take your completion certificate to sheriffs office to get fingerprinted, then about a week later go back to get your paperwork to take to the Department of Revenue (License bureau) and pay the money, get a picture taken and get the license.

holy cow...8 months. Mine arrived in about 3 weeks here in Idaho. The Utah license took about 6-7 weeks.

Here in GA. mine took 47 days....I went to the Probate Court...the girl filled out the form for me...they took my fingerprints electronically and I wrote a check for $87 and that was it.....other counties in GA are as fast as 3 days. In GA ours is called a Weapons Carry License....it can be carried open or concealed...and not just pistols...knives, long guns...knuckles ...I would only ever carry it concealed...I don't know why folks carry an exposed firearm in public....

Congratulations on getting your LTC, as Jammes mentioned, Missouri is pretty quick, mine took a little longer than my wife's as they had problems getting good electronic prints, but by only a week or so, I have to renew in September and it will be done the same day.

Here in New Hampshire, it's a shall issue state. Fill out the form, take it to the chief of police or selectboard (local government) in town, get it back within 10 days. Ten dollar fee, good for five years.

LTC?? Is that for legal to carry? Here in NC its called conceal carry permit. In my county the sheriff has 90 days and they use every single one whether its done or not. Just can't understand that, making a law abiding citizen wait.

Here in IN they are called LTCH or License To Carry a Handgun. Cost is right at $100, no class and is good for as long as you are a resident of IN. and stay out of trouble. This time last year the process was taking about 2-3 weeks but it is in the 6 moth area now. My daughter just turned 18 in June and is bummed it is taking so long.
