Tractor
Kubota BX25, 60" MMM, 3 point hitch
Does anyone know why Kubota doesn't list AG tires (R1) as an option for the BX25. When I was researching my tractor I knew I wanted turf tires as my main set. However, they lose traction when doing FEL work in wet soil and I'd probably get more off lawn use out of AG's than a compromise tire like an R4 as a second set. Will AG's fit on a BX25? They are an option on the BX2660 in the same size so I don't know if there's a problem somewhere or what. I did search but couldn't find an answer to this question.

They should have a "bar" tread option. Iv got BX1800 bars on my BX1500. Only way to go on a little tractor. Ground damage is not an issue. Traction always is.

I already did a search and came up empty on this particular question. There is no "Bar" tread or AG tire option for the BX25 on the Kubota build your tractor page. I just can't see a physical reason for not offering the option. All available tire options and the "Bar" tires are the same sizes. If I got them I'd only use them with the FEL/backhoe
& 3 point hitch and switch back to turf tires for mowing without the FEL/backhoe mounted. Just wondering if anyone uses them on their BX25.

I'm not sure as I have a BX22 but don't see any reason why not. The Ags on mine do full duty and they do turf up the grass when wet and sloppy out.
They are original so they are worn down a bit. They turf alot less than when new.
I don't mow with my machine but think it would be a pain to switch tires all the time. I'd just get the Ags on the back first and see it they meet the needs of the FEL work. Can't see the little fronts providing much more pulling power.
You can do alot on the grass when dry with Ags as long as you don't turn hard while going fast. If you do get the Ags I would try them out mowing in the dry season to save some tire swap time.
I'm east of Pittsburgh near Delmont about 2 miles off Rt22.. If you can trailer your machine without too much hassle we can try my Ags on your tractor. PM me or email at copperhead1967@ yahoo.com if you want.

All tires will slip/clog in wet soil. granted the ags will be bit easier, but in your case, I'd would try chains in the rear. Do you you have enough rear weight? On my BX24 with turfs, it made a world of difference to add liquid ballast in my rears for traction. Liquid ballast lowers the cog better then a solid ballast like concrete barrel or BH acting like a fulcrum in rear.

Just require the tractor be fitted with BX2200 bar treads and wheels [if different from the wheels that are fitted with other tires]. Its likely they will give you some trash about fouling up the front/back drive ratio. On mine the switch up to wheels & tires meant for a larger tractor gives a greater front overdrive. This improves turning in 4wd. Increasing the ratio a little is the way you want to go, if any. i took the stock turfs off at ~100hrs and never went back. Now around 1500Hrs.

I can't see why the dealer wouldn't sell you a set of AG tires for a BX2660 as a second set of tires if you are buying a tractor from him.I'm pretty sure my dealer would do that for a customer.I know I bought two sets of wheels and tires with a new BX25 and the extra set wasn't as much as I would have thought.

I think I could switch tires in about 10 or 15 minutes. Besides, I would only do that when I needed the loader or backhoe with wet conditions. I imagine I'd not need them much in the summer when mostly mowing, but then again, The bx25 is less than 3 weeks old and I could find myself needing to use the Fel/backhoe much more than I think.
According to Tractordata.com, your BX22 has 8" front wheels and the 26" rears. The BX24's & 25's went to a 10" front with the 26" rears.
I'm starting to think that Kubota didn't have much call for the AG tires on a small tractor like this and they just dropped the factory option due to lack of interest. Since most folks probably want the R4's, or turf tires, there's not much call for the AGs. How many people will use a BX25 that has a 3 point hitch as an OPTION to pull a plow when it will do a great job with a tiller?
I have no trailer, so my tractor is grounded, but thanks for the offer. I'm just 5 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh about 1/2 mile off of 279 N in our own little pocket of woods an fields. It's almost like being out where you are except with a little more noise.
Right now I have a few other things to get for the tractor that are more pressing than another set of wheels and tires. Since this is my first tractor, I need/want (can't tell the difference yet) a bunch of tractor related stuff like a rake, rototiller, boxblade, post hole digger, etc. This could take awhile!
