Oil & Fuel Ahhh, the smell of diesel in the evening

I don't mind the smell of diesel fumes coming from my tractors, but I cannot stand the smell when stuck in traffic with a diesel truck sitting next to me.

I don't start the tractor just to smell it, but I have been known to fire up my smoker, just for the smell. The wife will come home and ask what I'm cooking. "Nothing, I just like the smell of smoke and a seasoned BBQ pit."

Yeah, she thinks I'm weird.

I can hang out with my smoker grill and enjoy the aromas ; my wife will shut every window in the house . Diesel fumes do not seem to bother her as much, but I will not fire the tractor up unless I intend to use it on a potentially useful activity. My wife will ocassionally have "issues" with my "projects" and/or tractor activities like a perimeter search, etc. Jay

I always loved the smell of gasoline fumes when the car was being filled back when I was a kid. Of course now I know that sweet odor came form the tetraethyl lead that was in gasoline back then.

I'll accept weird as a self-descriptor , but I prefer colorful or idiosyncratric ! I feel like I am the company of my peers whenever I go on TBN . The colleagiality is refreshing and informative. We are all in this together! Jay
