Dealer sent me this:

Further down, they take off $11K for my trade in, which is a little more than half what I paid. Total due comes to around $25K

Which ain't a'gonna happen.

Looks like you are eyeing a larger machine. You could try and sell through Facebook. Ask for more than what you would want to make the deal on the new machine to give you some wiggle room. It will either sell or not.

Interesting that they suggested the MT225HE instead of the shiny, new MT226...

Is your old machine paid off or near it? If you finance a new machine with $0 down, you will have a monthly payment for several years. Look at it like this…you would have to break ~$350 worth of parts each month to surpass the monthly payment, which would then make a new machine more attractive. Not gonna happen, unless you abuse your machine on purpose. You will probably never have to spend the repair cost on that tractor in 10 years to make up for 1 year of payments under normal use.

I would keep it. Repair it when needed. Make additional payments each month to a savings account made for unforeseen repairs, if you want to pay cash when something significant goes. 20 years from now, maybe start looking.

Buy a decent zero turn for $6000 and put the hours on it instead of your tractor. You will mow twice as fast as well.

How many hours on the tractor? Unless it has been abused, or you want a bigger machine, why trade it?

MMM don’t make a lot of sense to me.

Warranty drops off in September. Not sure I want to be out fo warranty. Is trading up something to consider? What's the next model in line?

Must have BH and MMM and be able to use both at the same time, just as I can now.
You might be able to fool the wife with that "warranty talk". The rest of us know what is going on here and we are all supportive ;) 🤣

Aside from the warranty issue point out to the wife that the tires are getting OLD and even though they still have lots of tread & hold air, they will need to be replaced.
That will not be covered by any warranty so you NEED a NEW tractor.

Why trade in if its working good for you right now. The only reason i sold my old jd870 and bought larger was i had to have a machine capable of lifting the liquid cooled generators i was selling and installing. I had that tractor for 14 years and only one costly repair on front axles. My current tractor id 14 years old, working great. Way past warranty and im never going to sell it.
