Heard a funny noise/rattle coming from under the hood of my BX24the other day. Opened the hood and rattle was coming from the right side and the dipstick was loose. Took it to the garage, removed the brush guard, side cover and FEL. Saw it right away, The lower alternator mount bolt was broken. NO DEALER that I found had a bolt in stock except one in Georgia (I am in Maryland). They wanted $3 for the bolt and $17 shipping:shocked:! So, ordered from Messick's and waited. Easy fix. Ordered a belt also. It was the original and had some pieces starting to come off the inside.
Searched here on TBN and found a link that showed the process. WSM doesn't even mention alternator or belt removal. Driveshaft comes loose on the front and belt is off.
