I have no experience with neutralizing acid, but my dad does, and he is a perfectionist, so I am going to guess that he got it, but I will check again. Thanks.

I saw that loose black wire too but it would also appear that the blown off positive lead could have jerked that black wire off.

I have read the alarmist posts about battery gasses for many years, but never really believed that there would be enough volume and/or pressure to be of any consequence.
I think I've always ***_U_ME'd that the Hydrogen would just drift up, up and away, quicker than it would be generated.
OTOH, I have to admit that I've never done the arithmetic.
