Have you looked at these..... They are cast steel and pretty well accepted in blacksmithing areas..... Pretty decent anvil for the price...

Thanks for the link DL

Mine’s not too pretty, but it will take a beating.

Anvil stand.
8”x16” tubing filled with 8’ RR rail, sharps, plasma dust, blast sand, shot and Portland grout. 650# before the anvil and tooling. Quiet and great rebound for anvil.

Blacksmith stumps were at least 4’ in the ground. If the anvil moves when used you are wasn’t energy. Video, you might be surprised.

I have 2 pieces of Mr choo choo 6 inch ribbin rail
going to weld one bottom up to right side up so
have a flat and partial round one.
A friend had an old time blacksmiths anvil weight
at least 200 lbs he wouldn't sell wasn't sure if he
would need it or not.
A tree stump is I think about the best stand for an
anvil . No give in any direction

GC2310,
Anvil stand is very nice. It could use a carrying handle though. (y)

I always appreciate the work of people that go the extra mile to make an item look better. I would have probably just mounted it on a round section of tree and forego the Octagon shape and the flatbar retaining strip. Yours will sell at auction for a lot more than mine when it is my time to go, while both would have served us well during our lifetimes! David from jax
ArlyA, nice job! I mounted a vice on a similar setup!

GC2310,
Ray, you do know its to heacey to lift, right? To move it you tip it a bit and rolls it on the rim lid.
The handle comment was of course a joke.

Even cartoon characters know anvils are heavy.
