Any one have any experience with the pocket garden house you see advertised. My wife waters her flowers a lot and has over 100' of hose to drag. I wonder how the pocket hose would work.
I had a couple at my past house and worked well, Moved to a new house and immediately blew out 2. My new house has 140PSI in the water line. Those expandable hoses will blow out if pressure is above 50PSI. The box stores and hardware stores sell a gauge that screws onto a hose nozzle for less than $10. My house has a pressure regulator but it still builds up to 140PSI if water not flowing. Possibly someone made a heaver duty one by now - check the specs on them for PSI. A lot of them do not give the PSI on their ads and only on the package.
It is the water companies burden to maintain a safe water pressure. Anything over 80 can cause you lots of problems. Mine was 120. Called the Rural Water Company and they put in a regulator and asked me where I wanted it set. My outside hydrant is rated for 80 psi so I had them set it for 75. I also have a regulator inside the house to bring it down even further. The high pressure can ruin water heaters, refrigerators etc.
I love my pocket hose, so does my wife, works great, and has lasted....a lifetime...almost.![]()
