Was doing some of the 300hr service on the the BX last night. Book says the cap. of the front axle is 5 quarts. Drained both sides of the axle and waited until it had pretty much quit dripping. I put the plugs back in and poured in about 2 quarts in the right side and then was pouring the rest of a one gallon jug in the left side. I had about 3 1/2 quarts in it when I notice an oil slick forming on the floor at the right side. I was doing this fairly close to the floor drain so the right side was about 1/2" lower or so. I took the turkey baister and sucked about a quart out to get to the full level. I figure I lost about a pint on the floor so it held only about 2 1/2 quarts. I'll check it again before I use it and it's now setting on the level. I've noticed other discrepencys. I believe the crankcase holds more than the book says. I don't remember about the transmission but I need to change that next and prefer not to waste more SUDT. Does anyone know the actual capacities of the BX?
