Has anyone mounted a tool box on a John Deere 5520 wit a cab? I think I have an okay spot, but I'm thinking there's somebody out there with a better idea.
Case-IH Farmall 45A, Kubota M8540 Narrow, New Holland TN 65, Bobcat 331, Ford 1920, 1952 John Deere M, Allis Chalmers B, Bombardier Traxter XT, Massey Harris 81RC and a John Deere 3300 combine, Cub Cadet GT1554
I can't remember where they were on my friends machine but on the TN's they mount them on the back of the fender next to the cab. If you have a heavy duty metal tool box or even a decent metal tool box you could fashion up a protective cage for it and mount it on the side of the tractor (if there is not a loader) down low where the loader mounts to the frame/engine in front of the cab. I have seen tool boxes in this spot on TN-F's but NH uses plastic tool boxes so they usually get destroyed using them in vineyards . A good metal box there should hold up well.
I was thinking that spot actually, by the fender. I'm going to make the mount make it possible to remove the tool box so I can bring it out to the MoCo and change those **** knives.
