Anyone Running a Woods TSG50 Stump Grinder w/ a BX23s?

Wondering if you think it's powerful enough or if I should look at getting the larger grinder for my M5-111. I'd rather use the smaller tractor if I can because it'll be easier to get in/out of the woods. Thanks, folks.

It depends on what you are grinding and how fast you want to go.

The BX23 when grinding large stumps, will just take longer.

It depends on how fast you want to grind.

Both machines will do a perfectly fine job at grinding, just one will take longer than the other.

I suppose at the end of the day, it depends on how much you value your time...

Thanks--I don't have too many to grind, so time isn't so much an issue as wonder if the tractor is capable of it. Really appreciate the reply.

You have about 90pto hp....you can easily run the sg-100. I have the TSG-50 and I think it would be a small for your tractor as Woods caps it out at 50pto hp.

I suggest you look at Baumalight grinders. At the time I had a smaller tractor and was not sure the baumalight a good match, but I still think it is a better unit.


Check out Miller stump grinders, now by Arborwolf, for a serious tractor pto grinder...the hydraulic retraction and extension is pretty cool and expensive looking!

I have a Woodland Mills stump grinder on my BX25. It works fine but you do have to go slower as the tractor will bog down if you are too aggressive.
