Obviously you’re being a bit sarcastic in your post here, but trust me when I say, there are a lot of people who take the rules of their religions seriously, and cremation may not be allowed. I’m not in one of those religions, but some people are.

The Catholic Church permits cremation, but remains must be interred in a sacred place such as a cemetery or columbarium. They cannot be kept at home or scattered somewhere.

Many did without during the Covid years… it was sad because for over 50 years mom supported her parish in tithes and works bringing communion to the sick, food bank, landscape committee, etc.

When her time came the church was missing in action… even a call to the parish for last rights couldn’t be accommodated.

That must be a local parish situation. We had my mother’s funeral mass during the covid shutdown.

That is so sad. Of course I never met your mom, but by all descriptions seemed like a mom we’d all love to have. Covid had a devastating effect on people of faith.

Ironic on how many different organized different Christian religions we have right here only in the United States, worshiping one Son of God, and yet people can't agree with each other on the practicing of that religion, due to the interpretation of the written word.

We only have one church on our rural road, it's Baptist, and if you walk in through their doors without the King James Bible in hand, they will give you one no matter if you have a Bible or not.

For my father we had a remembrance at my brothers house a few months back.
He died in California and most of the family is in the North East, so it just made sense to have it where more people could show up.

People make a lot of rules, and call them settled doctrine.

I been through the Bible a number of times and have yet to glean anything regarding cremation.

Jesus was never seemed to be a fan of legalism.

That’s the church’s fault, not The Word of God. It looks very clear to anyone who has actually read the Bible.

You're missing my point.

Any Bible other the the KJV is wrong, and you HAVE to use a KJV Bible.

So, if you bring any other Bible into their Church other than the KJV Bible, they are going to ask you to use the (KJV) they give you instead of your own Bible, because everyone knows only the KJV is the only true Bible (there I am being sarcastic).

I actually had to look it up. Apparently the Catholic church uses the NAB Bible. Well, if by chance you're catholic, if you didn't know it, you're using the wrong Bible

When I Church gets hung up on what Christian Bible you should use, that Church is not for me. My opinion only of course.
