Apple computer photo resize?

I switched from PC to Apple and I am still learning. The operating system is Mac OSX10.5 Leopard.
I found the function that allows the resizing of photos for e-mailing that places the photo only on an e-mail. Since I'm not using Apple mail I can't use that feature.

How do I resize the photos to put them here on TBN?

If you're using iphoto it's a snap. Just find the photo's you want in the Events or Photos Library, Select them (shift-click for multiple), and then bring down menu under File --> Export. I usually export as a JPEG (compressed), medium quality, and medium size. This should produce a reasonable ~80kb jpeg that can be easily imported into your attachments folder at TBN.

For a first try, it looks like you did really well. And I don't think I've seen any birds in the wild quite that brightly colored; very pretty bird and I wouldn't have known what it was if Jim hadn't named it.

Thanks Jim and Bird. I think this will be the photo that I will submit for the county wildlife photo contest. The painted bunting loves to nest in the trees at the edge of our woods and then flies to the ground to eat organic grasshoppers and insects. This year we have 6 pairs! They return in the spring and stay through the summer.

I'm really impressed with the Apple computer after returning a Dell and a HP which gave me problems followed by hours on the Tech line only to have issues that could not be resolved. I was worried I would have to buy a lot of software but so far everything I need was included.

I hear that. Used Apples for years and always felt they were light years ahead of the PCs for a variety of basic get'r done applications. Photo looks great!

Don nice picture! As for apple I just got my wife the macair and she just loves it. I am sure you will enjoy the apple once you have used it for awhile.

Every year except this year we see painted buntings along our road about halfway between my house and the highway. They seem to stay along the edge of the woods as yours do and swoop down on the road to eat bugs. Often, they will be in the middle of the road when I first see them. They also show up at our bird bath at the house, but this year we have only seen one. We've also seen several bluebirds and purple martins.

Okay, I couldn't help myself. I had to tweak your picture some to see if I couldn't bring out more color without completely fryin' it. Here's what I was able to do. I reduced the file size to 1/3 also, but that probably isn't appropriate for printing, only for TBN posting. If you print it, compression artifacts may show up.
