David, I mentioned we're supposed to be stewards of the earth. I'm not aware of anyone advocating making it 'a crappy place to live'. However, those who worship the earth paint everyone who disagrees with their opinions as advocating dirty air, dirty water, etc. It's an excellent tactic for stifling discussion and dissent. (I'm not implying you're doing this.)

My point is, there are so many folks that drive huge vehicles, don't shut them off when they aren't using them, don't turn off lights when they aren't needed, don't recycle, waste food, use excessive fertilizer, etc... when all it takes is a tiny, tiny extra effort to not be wasteful or live with a large impact on the environment and still have a great quality of life.

I am reminded of the cone heads... "Consume mass quantities! Consume mass quantities!"
