articulated and rigid wheel loaders with telescopic arm or telehandler opinions performance comparison
hello. i happened to see that some machinery manufacturers make wheel loaders with both articulated and rigid chassis with telescopic arm to be used with buckets forks or as small cranes. what do you think? better wheel loaders or telescopic telehandlers which are better and more versatile in your opinion which brands and models are better in today's market thanks.

Here is my Bobcat V417 compact telehandler that I bought new in September 2010.

It is an amazing machine that has a Skid Steer Quick Attach and aux hydraulics on the telescoping boom.

thanks what performance and limits does it have comparing it to a wheel loader, when I worked in the construction sector I used a caterpillar th41 telescopic handler great machine on the building site thanks.

as penetration tearout force in excavation mode like a loader what efficiency and performance does it deliver compared to a common wheel loader of the same class and size of weight and power what torque and power does it have making a comparison thanks.

You can see the performance by clicking the link that I posted.
I have no experience with wheel loaders.

I know that it will dig better than a CTL in hard clay and sand rock:

The small size is another advantage:

thanks I think my land needs wider and higher wheels, the land is on a hill with terraces, slope 15% 18. I have to build a ramp in brought back earth and move some soil 15 meters x 3.5 wide x 4 meters high, trace paths create a clearing and level some ground recover some fairly heavy eucalyptus trunks transport stones to build dry stone walls and perimeter curbs retaining walls for the steps of the terraces I have to think about it thanks for your contribution.

For terraceing your slopes, an excavator with carrying ability might be what you want.
Wheel loaders are not side slope friendly.
These Mecalac machines are from Italy (they also make wheel loaders) and your might be able to rent a machine to judge it's performance in your conditions and requirements.

Look around on their website. A very versatile machine. Versatile usually means that it will do many jobs but it doesn't really excell at any of them.
In my opinion this would be the best for building terraces on a hillside, and transporting materials very far would be it's weaker point.

I've got a old H80B wheel loader and on woodsy trails, it is a bit like a bull in a China shop when not sitting in a pit doing what payloaders do (the top of the cab is 12' high), but it is good at knocking over trees, and popping stumps. It is obviously great at shifting material and loading dump trucks and trailers. It is not good on hills. I have no idea what the breakout force is, but it is rated to nearly 32,000 pounds lifting weight. Moreover, even my old Payloader flows 45 gallons a minute on its third function and this before high flow was offered. Which is to say that whatever type of machine you get, pay for the third function, and if offered, get high flow even if you never want to use a hydro-axe, or forest multcher.

Also, because both telehandlers and Payloaders front axles are rigidly mounted, they are significantly tougher than utility tractors whose front axle pivots.

That is not a compact telehandler like mine, it is full size.

Surprised to see a bucket on it, but the boom is different than most telehandlers so it probably will not break using the bucket.

Merlo does make good compact telehandlers that would be good on side slopes like my Bobcat V417 is.

I've heard good things about the Manitou Ten Brothers, what do you think? It's a very prestigious brand, thanks
