I am thinking that one of my first mods to my Branson is to add forward lighting. I notice the ROPS has very convenient threaded lugs halfway up on the outside edge that could easily be utilized for lights (are these for a sunshade?). Will the electrical system handle two 55 watt lights? Anyone know the thread of these lugs? I suppose I should run a fresh power lead from the battery to a relay or is there a blank fuse location in the box I can use? I know some of these I can answer with a little time out at the tractor but its still dark by the time I get home this time of year and working in the dark and cold is not as much fun as planning and asking in the warmth of the house by the pellet stove...

wvrider, the 2 welded lugs you are talking about are for bolting on a canopy and are where I bolted my lights on. I needed lights in a hurry... so bolted mine there. They will work ok if you plan to be out in the open. If you are going thru brush/woods...they might get knocked off. I am planning later to put mine inside the ROP but...for now they work fine for me. I got 2 55 watt lights and 2 small bolts that fit the lugs...(my dealer had them so , I don't know the size exactly) . I picked up some wire, some plastic wire ties, a weatherproof toggle switch, a couple of round donut terminal ends, wire nuts, and i found a small rectangular plastic junction box with lid. I started with one light...it has 2 wires...so crimped a round terminal to one wire, and slid it over the mounting bolt then bolted the light to the ROP. Hooked the remaining wire to my roll of wire with a wire nut, and then ran it up accross the ROP to the other side...and to the second light. Secured the wire with plastic wire ties as I went. Repeat the procedure on the second light...ground one wire on the mounting bolt and tie the other wire into the roll of wire from the other light. Run this wire down the ROP.

Now , what i did was take this small junction box, drill a hole in the back and mounted it just behind the seat on a metal panel that is bolted to the ROP. Just took out an exsisting bolt, ran it thru the back of the box, then bolted it back where it was. I drilled a hole in the side of the junction box and mounted my weatherproof toggle switch. I ran my wire through the bottom of the box and attached to the switch. I cut another length of wire and ran from the switch down out of the bottom of the box, and to a pigtail outlet that I have by the top of my 3 point switch. I have a Branson 4020, so don't know if you have that same pigtail or not. It is already tied into the fuse box. This pigtail has multiple prongs...so I got my little tester and found one that was hot when you turn on the lights. I pluged my wire into that prong...and the rest is history.

It works great for me and has been a life saver. Didn't take much time to rig up. It's not fancy , but functional and works for me.

If I get a chance, I will get you some close up pictures. Of course you can get much fancier if you like.
