Thanks for sharing. My dad flew 49 missions over the oilfields of Ploesti in one of these. Unfortunately, he was shot down and captured with one more before stateside.

open air (read this as cold as ?#$*$ at altitude) with bomb bay doors made like beer truck roll up doors and a small catwalk between the front and back. Man, that was living.



I especially like the narrator saying "Ford pilots". Doesn't quite sound right.

I had a great aunt that worked there during the war. I grew up about 15 miles away, it was a GM plant for many years, now it is danger of being knocked down. There is a group trying to raise money to save the building, I don't know if they will be sucessful.

I've met Dr. Deming, attended a couple of his coure offerings. He also helped Japan out a lot, after ww2, the US pretty much forgot statistical control, while the japanese embraced it.
