kubota rtv900: kubota mx5200
well my mowing season has hit an all time high this year with a few more customers then i had previous years. (i do lawn mowing/bush hoging as a side business, firewood too). gotten a 30 + acre field i just recently finished up with. b3200 which is new since late may is performing past expectations. been bushogging with my 5 ft land pride rc and the turf tires on the b3200 are doing great. (got the turfs for my lawns customers and that is working great too with the 60" kubota mmm.) i have been on some really steep hills here in north central pa and even in the early night dew on those hills and in 4wd the tractor maintains good traction, uphill and down hill. very impressed with the stability of the tractor on sidehills as it seems better then my b7800 with the r4's tires. the turfs/rims on the b3200 look like they dish out more, not much, but enough i can tell big time on those side hills. between my lawns and fields, i have done close to 90 acres and the tractor already has 56 hours on it since late may. i was concerned about the turfs at first, but decided to go with them over the r4's due to how the stance looked with them and since i also have gotten some rather large lawn customers this year, 5 acres, and 3 acres lawns, so i decided to give the turfs a try. glad i did so far.

the tractor is also out performing expectations as the extra 2 hp compared to my b7800 has also been a noticible difference. the seat on the b3200 is also much more comfortable then the b7800's seat. my hats off to kubota for another fine product.

well i figured i would just throw this out there in case anyone else was considering turfs as an option. i also plow a few driveways in the winter in my neighborhood and use the tractor (don't have plow for my truck yet and probably never will, but never say never). the b3200 turfs i think are going to chain up easier and work better then the r4's on the b7800, so i am looking forward to that too.

i just learned to post pictures here, or so i think, so when i get some time, i will put some pics with this thread. until then keep those tractors shiny side up and yall take care.

I have been running turf tires on my L4200 for years... they are fantastic...
BTW you will likely Never need chains on turf tires, they love the snow... KennyV

I've been running the front blower on my B3030 with the turfs...... no problem (and we get plenty of snow in NH). Like Kenny says... I can't imagine you'd need chains. Heck, I can do alot of it in rear wheel drive. I also love my turfs, they were the right tire for me also.

Funny thing, if your snow removal equipment is working the tractor is not in deep snow!!! Turfs work the best on blacktop over any other type tire!!!

here are some pictures of the b3200 and some pasture that i just finished up with. the pictures do not give the steepness full credit. i tried to show comparison with the angle of the fence and trees in the back ground. anyway the turfs have been gripping great and were a good choice for me.

So how long does it take to hog 30 acres with a 5' unit? I'm jealous... My little 1/2 acre pasture goes too quickly...wish I could justify your rig! ;)

Wow...that last pic look pretty hilly to me.

Anyway as dry as it it I don't think Ag tires would sink in to grip so your turf tires end up having the largest foot print possible. And that's a good thing with hills like that.

Here we're in kind of a low area and traction use to be a problem Now I use chains on all 4 of the unfilled tires to get around. (logging)

That would be difficult for you since it sounds like you transport to different sites. Road surfaces are murder on chains...but they make an incredible difference.

Turf tires are great, im on my 3rd kubota tractor set up with turfs! I do a lot of snow with my machine, turfs really work well in the snow!

Although it was a BX2660, not a B3200, it worked well with Turf tires in deep snow (2009), without chains as well as on slopes when mowing. I wish I had turfs on my new ride, B2620. Everything is brown here, even the weeds aren't growing; so mowing on slopes is yet to be determined. The last two winters we didn't have enough snow to get the equipment out. Cheers to you Ray.....Mike

thanks for all the replys guys. i really do enjoy my side business's. it took me about 22 hours to do that 30 acre (approx) field for those guys. i usually stay in low range for cut quality and that field had quite a few wood chuck holes and some old furrows (plow) that weren't smoothed out. the pictures on here are our own property and of my wife's one horse pasture. that 30 acre camp field was a little steeper in areas and i mowed it up and down. worked out good as i had long passes that way and that helped boost efficiency. a bigger rig would also boost efficiency, but i am very happy with what i got. any way, i am happy with the turfs so far and looking forward to trying them this winter. it is always interesting with the hills and ice where i am at in the winter. not too many paved driveways in my neck of the woods, so the snow left packs and gets slick. i have done ok with the r4's and chains, but i know the turfs will expose more chain to the ground and grip better. as far as my lawn mowing business, that has slowed down big time with this dry weather. we have had some rain, but it drys off quickly again. works out for me because when i am not mowing lawns, i am getting firewood out. curious as to how the turfs will hold up on the logging roads.
