B6000 parts and squeal

Today I bought a B6000 and am familiarizing myself with it. I got a really great deal and it came with a B-36 tiller and K-348-7 mower, neither of which are compatible with the machine, unfortunately. So, now I need to find the right ones or buy a PTO reverser.
Where's a good place online for parts for the little bugger? Most places I found dont have parts for it. It needs a battery, ignition switch, and proper steering wheel, for starters.

Today when running it for a while it began to squeal like crazy, coming from the bellhousing area. I suppose theres some issue with the throwout bearing or clutch....looks like I might be pulling the motor soon to get a look-see.

Are the two cylinder motors all kindof rough running? I know its not a 3 cyl, which should be alot smoother, but it almost seems like it has a rod knock. Can the pan be pulled while the motor is in the chassis so I can take a look at a rod bearing?
If anyone has a source for used parts for this machine, let me know.

Back when I had a B6000, I had good luck with West Kentucky Tractor Parts for used parts. Also, every now and then, someone parts out one on eBay. Not sure, but Kubota may still have some parts. As for the battery, I just used a car battery...

Bellhousing squeal sounds like throwout. Does clutch work OK? Does noise change with clutch in/out?

My engine was smooth running. Are you sure the knocking sound is a bearing, or could it be a diesel combustion knock? That and rough running could be fuel delivery system...

PTO reversers are very rare and pricey...

Yea the clutch seems to work fine. I suppose the rough running could be from a bad injector or something. I'm not sure its a rod knock...I think it would be louder than what I'm hearing. I think I'm gonna pull the motor soon to check out the clutch and the motor bottom end.

i read on another site some hints about making your parts work.

the tillers can (sometimes) be adjusted to work backwards. one guy mentioned reversing the blades (since they turn backwards) left on right side, and right on left side.

the mower can be used by either reversing the blades, and re mounting the belt tensioner so it will work with reverse pressure.

i have just bought a b6000 also, and am looking for more info too.

I was under the impression that the B36 tiller was made for the B6000. I own a B6000 and have been looking for a tiller that works with my counter-clockwise rotating PTO. I thought the B36 tiller did just that. Does your B6000 PTO rotate clockwise? If that is the case then you may have an interested buyer for your tiller. I am in the learning process about these little old tractors so if I sound confused thats probably because I am.

I think the B6000 is similar to the B6100 and B7100. Parts like steering wheel should swap between the units. The biggest difference is the engine which spins opposite the 6100/7100 (these are 3 cylinders). You split the tractor to get at the clutch. If you search for posts that I created you can see many pictures of my B6100 including splitting the tractor for clutch replacement. There's a ton on this site if you just search around.

Hi, I have a B6200 and have owned it and maintained it for 22 years. Check the ball coupling this is the connection from the engine to the transmission. It is tough to replace and requires splitting the tractor. Have your local friendly Kubota dealer send you the PDF parts breakdown for refference and ordering parts. Good Luck!
