Ive never owned a tractor and need some advice.I live in B.C. Canada and need a tractor for landscaping my yard and some snowplowing(mostly a toy).Anyway theres an older b6000 4wd at a local tractor store. Its in good-excellent cond.hrs unknown. Its got a blade only.My question is can i get a frontend loader for it still? And at what price? Also they want $5000.00Can. for it,I can probably get it for $4500.00Can. Is that too much?
Chopper, I don't know much about the B6000 except for what I've read here. Based on that, I probably wouldn't buy it. I don't know how hard it would be to find a FEL for it, but if you ever plan on adding any PTO equipment your selection will be limited. Apparently the PTO drive spins in the opposite direction of standard equipment.
You might try doing a search amongst the various discussions to confirm this.
You should be able to find something similar for around the same price, try searching for an older B7100D.
How about a B8200 HST? its a 82-83 i think. No FEL. ag tires.Good shape unknown hrs.It has spent its life on a golf course.Doin what i dont know. The guy whos selling it has it all apart,he says hes cleaning it.I can probably get it for $3000.00-$4000.00 CAN. is that fair? better than the B6000? Didnt the B8200 come with an hr meter,i cant see one!
Again, I don't think I can be of much help. I just sold my 1981 B5100E with a 42" MMM for 4000CAN. It was a 2WD, 11HP, manual transmission. 3 to 4K seems quite cheap for the B8200HST.I would definitely have it checked out by a mechanic first. They are both selling B8200's for around 8000US.
As for the hour meter, my B5100's was under the hood in front of the battery. Good Luck!
