It doesn't appear, after googling) that anyone handles an after market cab for these tractors anymore. Who has installed/modified some other type of cab to fit and from what unit? Thanks

If you're still interested in cab info for the B7100- I put a Harris cab on my B7100. I couldn't get much info about it after I picked it up last year in a local dealers junk pile. Sticker says; serial # 8714 Brampton ontario-buffalo. I could find no other info, parts etc.I also know Cozy cabs made one for it-I have the brochure- I got that in 1980, the brochure was all I could afford then- I think the cab was almost as much as my tractor!- anyway, I'm the guy looking for the front pto snowblower shaft from that other tractor forum site- still havent found one- anyone please contact me if you know of one- thanks mike tobey

Do you have any pics? I am curious to see what it looks like with a cab.

Thanks,
Charles

I dont have pics but when I can I'll take some. I think the cab looks a bit oversized for my little B7100 but it is very sturdy, heavy all metal with good glass all around. I had to design and fabricate the main front mounting bracket which was missing, but the rear bracket that came with it fit perfectly.I also had to restore and paint it-was a lot of work, but I dont care what it looks like or how much work it took when I'm in it and the wind isnt whipping around me. Larry;

Here are a couple of photos of a SIMS cab mounted on my B7100. I'm not sure if they're still in business or if they still make one for this tractor. Mine came with the tractor. I don't have any photos of the entire setup but I got a "bag o'stuff" with the tractor that is the soft side doors. They basically attached with snaps and domes. This SIMS cab has glass windows front and rear. The front window is mounted on two pivots that allow the window to tip backwards to allow the engine hood to open. Mine has a windshield wiper on the front but I'm not sure if it came that way or someone added it later. The rear window is fixed but easily removeable with 4 nuts and bolts.

Cheers, Erik

Sims Cab Depot is about an hour south of here in Long Sault. The B7100 cab is discontinued.
Thanks for posting Erik.

You might be able to get a Femco Weatherbreak that would fit it, not sure they make one although it is worth a try. contacting Dave Hines and see if he has one that will fit it.

Wow! I thought this thread was dead. Attached is a picture of what I ended up doing. Bought a new Simplicity cab, reworked the mounting brackets substantially to fit, did a little cutting and resewing on soft cab for fender clearance. Fits resonably well and keeps the snow and wind off of me.

Looks good and comfortable. Once winter's is all done maybe you could give us a follow up review of what you liked or what you might want changed.

Well, this thread was started in Oct of '06, so I have one winter under my belt with this set-up. I found a new, old stock cab on ebay for $125 from a Simplicity garden tractor, I knew the model #, so I looked up some specs and determined that the size was a fairly close match. When it arrived, I "dry" fit it together so I knew where everything went. I then went through a process of eyeballing, measuring, heating, bending, cutting, drilling, twisting and spot welding to get the framework mounted. Once I was satisfied after a little "tweaking" that everything was going to fit, I rewelded where I had spot welded and then painted everything. I used all but one piece of the original frame and only had to use about 18" of 1/2 x 3 flat to get to where I wanted to be. I had to reshape and resew the cloth to fit around my fenders. The original opening for what I assume was the lift lever or chute control was a convienient opening for my hydraulic hoses. I used carb cleaner to get rid of the painted Simplicity name and had a local sign shop make me some Kubota decals. I'm happy how it turned out. Keeps me out of the snow and cold. I probably spent 12-14 hours from start to finish.
