I am looking at a tractor for sale in my neighborhood in PA. It is a B7100HST with 200 hours. It is 4 years old. It also has 4 by 4, a 60" mower deck and seems in good condition. The seller was asking $7,500, but accepted my offer of $7,000.

Before I hand over the cash, as am a tractor novice, is this a fair price.

Thanks.

BBT, I think that's a pretty good price for one that's 4 years old and only 200 hours; assuming there's nothing wrong with it. I'm also assuming no FEL and a belly mower when you say mower deck.

Kubota B7100 HST, Mfr. 1980-99, 13 PTO HP, 1257 lbs., Last fact. price $7585

Not enough auction activity for auction pricing.
Avg. Dealer Lot pricing for 1996 $6,360.

Don't hold me to it, but I just recently seen one at a local auction {unknown year} that sold for about $3200. w/ mower. You have to remember this is a small unit, 13 PTO hp, mostly under powered for any future brush-hogging type activities... For a few thousand more, I hate to tell ya... but brand new, more HP,full warranty,a virgin all yours, no problems...

Also, every year the Hydro transmission has vast improvements...
You can see it, I can't... and It's your money...

John

I've been looking for a small tractor for a while and it seems almost impossible to find one that is in good condition and doesn't have gobs of hours on it. I looked at TractorSmart.com and they had a couple of older B7100s that were listed at almost $8k with 450hrs. I know they are a dealer though and don't know what kind of markup they use on used tractors.

Thanks.

BBT & John, maybe that was the last factory price, but in '95, I bought a new one for $8,450 (plus $2,400 for the front end loader). Maybe I paid too much, but that was the best price I found after pricing them at 4 different dealers. In '99, the same dealer gave me an honest $8,000 for it with nearly 500 hours on it when I bought the B2710. It had the front end loader, but no other implements with it, while the one you're looking at BBT has the mower deck instead. And while they're small (and I like my B2710 better because it's bigger), I moved a lot of dirt with that little loader that could handle about 410 pounds and a 4' box blade, used a 4' brush hog a lot (some of it cutting brush over 1" in diameter), and used a 40" tiller. If it'd had power steering, I'd probably still have it.
