Hi, I have an older B7100 HST about 4000 hours used light duty for grass cutting and snowblowing. My rad was recently leaking so I had it repaired and put it all back together. It worked once after that but it moved really slow, not much forward or backward speed. Today when I fired it up, the hydraulics work, but it will not move forwards or backwards. The linkage looks like it is moving. It is really cold here, but that never was an issue. Anyone have ideas?
Thanks
Keith

First off I would check the tranny fluid level...does your B7100HST have transmission strainer, for that might now become clogged.

Is that the TDH level right below the seat? Also, where would the transmission strainer be located? Also, I removed the oil cooler in front if the rad when I repaired it. Also, I just got the tractor and don't know when the filter (looks like an oil filter) under the seat was changed. Could that have something to do with it?
Thanks for your help

I am not sure the year of your B7100HST...I have 1995...hopeing Kubota hasn't relocated parts.

On my B7100HST I remove cover where the Hyd. filter located to clean strainer.

??? "TDH level right below the seat"....not sure what you mean?

The tranny oil dipstick is right below the seat? Do you have to drain the tranny oil to check the strainers? It is older than 95 for sure, probably 80's model.

I don't drain the oil on my BX23 to clean the screen or change the filter. What I do is to pull the vent and attach my vaccuum pump. Draw a vaccuum on the case and do the required work. I lose very little oil that way, not more than a cup or two. You may need to change the oil regardless on a unit with that many hours.

That's the location of dip stick on my B7100HST.

This Iam not sure of,for I always replace filter and fluid when I clean the strainer....less of mess.

I had virtually the same problem with my B1550 HST. It was caused by a totally clogged strainer. Just take it out and clean it. The strainer bolts into the bottom left hand side of the transmission case. (Theres usually another one on the other side too for the implement hydraulics). Go to this site and download the applicable parts manual. MediaMax, powered by Streamload - Free Online Storage - Share Videos and Photos - Online MP3 Access . I see theres 4 manuals there for various 7100HST models. Its only about a meg or 2 so its a quick and free download. I had a look at B7100HSTE_New.pdf and the strainer in question is part 070 on page 145. Search this forum for 'B1550 Hydrostatic Trans whine' and you'll see my story and a useful pic posted by Bird1968. If you pull the strainer you'll lose about half the oil in the transmission so have replacement oil available.
