B7100 gear drive
First I just found this forum and I am very pleased.
I have a older b7100 gear drive tractor and just had to take the whole rear end apart to repair broken pin for diff lock pedal. When I am refiling the fluid for the trans you do check it will the the front end loader down and it not running correct.

The loader will only matter if it runs off the 3pt hydraulics or otherwise uses the transmission as a sump. In this case yes, you would likely want the loader cylinders retracted as much as possible.

If it is the B219 loader or similar where the loader has it's own pump the sump is in the right hand loader upright. In this case it doesn't matter.

BTW the manual says 12.2 quarts to refill the transmission. And yes, I would do it not running to get a good reading.
