Tractor
Kubota B7500
Soon to be retiring from the military and we purchased around 5 acres 4 years ago. Looking at getting a tractor with a FEL and hopefully adding a BH and bush hog to work around the property. Ive found 2 that look pretty nice and are in my price range. $10-$12k. First is a 2003 B7500 with a FEL, rear rake attachment and around 180hrs. The second is a 1994 B2150 also with a FEL no other attachments but does come with a nice tandem axle trailer. Has 1490hrs. Both are very comparable in condition. Any advise in deciding between the 2. Definitely don’t wanna have any buyers remorse.

The B7500 is 21 hp and weighs about 1400 pounds. The B2150 is 24 hp and weighs about 1700 pounds. The B2150 is slightly more capable, but a whole lot more hours than the B7500. For 5 acres I think either would do most maintenance jobs. Unless you have a need to a little more weight and hp, I think the tractor with 180 hours is a no brainer as far as being the better buy.

I’m just wondering once I start running different implements (backhoe and bush hog) will I notice a big difference

If you really intend on adding a backhoe, I would shop the tractor / FEL / backhoe together.
I doubt you will notice much difference in the capability between those two machines.

Especially if the tractor models are discontinued from manufacture. It’s hard to find compatible backhoes and subframe for those machines.

Go with the B2150. I bought one used that had been a rental with 1000 hrs. It had a loader on it. They are a smooth 4 cylinder.
I put a Kubota backhoe on and commercially used the heck out of it installing water lines, drains, grade work, electric service and flatwork.
It had well over 2000 hrs when I sold it and last I heard the boy is still using it.
Other than regular maintenance the only work I remember doing on it was replacing the dynamo.

As noted I would check which models of backhoe fit each tractor and confirm if a subframe is needed and if it is still available.
Kubota had a three point hitch compatible backhoe for older models but went to a 4 point/ subframe at some point. I don’t recall the specific models for either.
I’d recommend the 4 pt/ subframe to avoid potential issues caused by over stressing the 3 pt and tractor frame.

Woods does offer the BH75 backhoe for both models, looks like for either it would be about $9K with the four-point subframe. That would mean you could be looking at the total cost after adding the BH, in the $19K–$21K range, if those tractors have rear hydraulics available, forget the rear 3-point hitch or rear PTO option.

At those prices, you have options, not sure where you're at, Quality Tractors in PA has a 2021 JD 1025 FEL, BH, 10 hours, $21,900. Everything already installed and ready to go. There are many others that are similar in options and prices, pick your color. Tractorhouse is where I saw the JD.

From my point view from having worked for a Kubota dealer,3 you will want a subframe mounted backhoe. I have installed both the 3 point style and the subframe style. Trust me, STAY AWAY from the 3 point.

Check on the B2150 to see if it has the optional power steering. You want that with a FEL. It's a necessity.
Both tractors came with either manual or HST transmission. Does that make a difference?
Do they have the same type tires? Does ground clearance matter where you are going to use it?

Go to TractorData.com for comparison data.

I agree with looking for a good low hour used tractor. Both prices seem right..You will have to search for a subframe/backhoe for either, but worth doing.
