Bad news on my TC33D

Thanks for the input.

I'm definitely leaning toward going new (GOOD used tractors are tough to find for sale around here).

The one thing I'm still wondering about is whether it's still worth fixing the old tractor and selling it. There are a number of folks who have expressed interest in it in my area if I ever wanted to sell (the foresty mods in particular are interesting for landownwers who do some of their own work in their woods). I may bring it back home and take it to a non-dealer repair guy I know and ask if he is interested in working on it. His shop rate is a good bit lower, and if we can find a used part, it may save a good bit. If I have a new tractor, I won't be in a rush to get it done and can afford to wait for a part or for a slow time in his schedule.
I that you should get your non-dealer mechanic to repair and sell too.

I am guessing the part that broke is SBA320111115 clutch housing. From CHH its $2865. All States Ag has it for $1078. A good rule of thumb is salvage parts are 50% off new.
Yes, it's the clutch housing. Thanks for the link to the part. I'm hopin gmy local repair guy has time to chat about this tomorrow.

Long lane tractor in Elizabethtown PA is a NH graveyard and they had a few TC's in that class last time I checked. Give them a shout couldn't hurt. 🍻
I've called called all of the suppliers listed so far in this thread (and a couple of others), Long Lane is the only one with one in stock. The others mentioned (plus a couple more mentioned by my tractor mechanic friend) all said No, nothing in stock. A couple of them are searching around to see what they can find.

I do have one question: The part number which showed up in the All State Ag link posted by @Sportsman762 for a NH TC33D is: SBA320111115 (They list this part as fitting a number of NH Tractors: Boomer 2030, Boomer 2035, T1510, T1520, T2210, TC25D, TC29D, TC29DA, TC30, TC31DA, TC33D, TC33DA, TC34DA, 1520, 1630, 1925)

Wenger does not have that part in stock, but shows that it is a newer version of the part number for a NH 1630 tractor, part # SBA320111440. The price was reasonable at $850. When I asked, can you confirm that this will also fit a NH TC33D, he said he was not certain, but when he looked up the part ending in "115", it showed a reference to the older SBA320111440 part from a 1630.

I want to make sure there is nothing about the older part that would prevent it from bolting on to a TC33D. Can anyone confirm that the older -440 part will also fit a TC33D? If it does fit, is there any reason to hold out and keep looking for the -115 part? Perhaps they upgraded the design to make it more robust in the later version.

I may have to make a call to my dealer or NH to check, but thought I'd ask here first.

BTW - my current plan is to have the local tractor mechanic take a look. As long as there is not substantial other damage, I will probably go ahead with the repair. There is a good chance I will end up selling the tractor and going up a size, but this buys me some time, and hopefully gives the area dealers time to build their inventory back up. Things are starting to fill in a bit, but there are a lot of gaps in their lineup. One of the models I am considering, the Kubota L4701 is not in stock anywhere nearby. Fortunately, a friend a couple miles down the road just bought one, so I was able to check that one out.

I'm pretty sure the Case/IH DX33 tractor is the same tractor too.

The SBA320111115 replaces 87761135, 87778681, 87780625, SBA320111112, SBA320111113, SBA320111114, SBA320111440. However I am not 100% positive on the backwards compatibility of the housings. I suspect it would work. However I can not definitively say so. If you spend some time looking at the parts books of the 1630 and the TC33D you might be able to figure if it will fit.

My older parts book for the TC25D, TC29D, and TC33D w/HST shows the part number as SBA320111440

Maybe later ones have a stronger part with a different number? Have you checked for a new part yet? Can a used one be trusted?

Thanks for the added information, guys. It seems as though the ...440 will fit my TC33D, since it's listed in the parts manual Ruffdog mentioned (my parts manual is currently over at the local tractor repair guy's shop). The only remaining question is whether the ...115 is a stronger, improved part. If so, it would make a bit of continued searching to find that part worthwhile.

Any good ideas on how to find out if there is a significant difference between the two parts? I'm guessing there is not enough detail in the parts manual to tell.

I'm wondering if they made the new 115 to work on more models to save money. Instead of 5 different parts that fit different models it may be 1 part that fits many models. It then may have threaded holes/bosses that are used on other models.
