I just received a cat 1 EZ-Hitch set from Carter and Sons and tried it out hooking up to the chipper I got from Ronald at Ranch Hand Supply. That one item has been the toughest for me to hook up by myself for some reason (probably due to uneven ground), so I thought it would be a good test. It didn't take even three minutes...

The chipper has worked out well. I added some 4x4's to the base to get a better angle with the PTO shaft & for better stability when not hooked up. I had to use some bar stock to extend the top link, but that works well.

Hello Nick, I also added two 4x4 PT skids under my Wallenstein BX42 when I bought it a couple of years ago, a very nice inexpensive solution to what you also have found out.
My NH TC40 has extendable lower arm 3-PT adjusters so I haven't felt the need for a quick hitch but good luck with yours.

Thanks, is there much "rocking" back and forth? or are they pretty tight on there? I didn't like my Harbor Freight QH since it had some "play" when it's connected.

I got a set of those several years ago and have loved them. They make hard jobs easier for this old man.

Not that I've noticed so far. A couple of plastic rings (small pipe slices) about the diameter of the swivel balls were provided for each arm to counter any side to side tilting. I only used one on each arm since that seemed adequate. Any front to rear tipping is pretty minimal as the opening is 2 5/8" tall and my lift arms are about 2 1/2" (if memory serves).

This really is the first time I've used them. I'll know more after hooking up & working with a few more items. I think any movement issue would have to be really noticeable for it to outweigh the greater ease of getting connected these look to provide. A big plus, from my point of view, is they were about $90 delivered (via priority mail) and very simple to install and use.

I have Pats, and have worked quite well; but I like th simplicity of the lock mechanism of yours. I have had pats disconnect from me a few times....
Pats carry off the end, so the carry point is different. Have to think on this one..
