With all the computers in modern cars there still is a minimal amount of power drain with some worst than others.
While the computer draw is minimal it still adds up over time.
Another thing is many switches use diodes to prevent arking and occasionally one goes defective and bleeds off amperage.
Any car that is stored for any decent amount of time really should be connected to an 'intelligent' trickle charger*.
I have known of some luxury earlier limos that drew so much 'trickle' power that an extra battery was required. (Jags, Rolls etc)
* A friend has a storage facility whereby folks 'winter' their nice toys.
After 3-4 months those without intelligent trickle chargers generally have to be boosted to start.
