Does anyone have, or seen these Beaver Bed Systems?

I have a cap on my Pickup, and getting to things in the front of the bed is sometimes difficult, and this pullout bed looks to be very useful.

I have a cap on the back of my pickup, and things stored in the front were a real pain to get to. So I had an 8' piece of particle board that wasn't doing anything, so I cut it in 2 - 8' long pieces so they would fit between the wheel wells with enough clearance to slide in and out past each other easily. I then mounted front end boards so when I pulled them out I would bring everything with me. Then I mounted handles on the back end to pull them out with. I have a plastic bedliner in the truck, and the boards slid pretty good, but I helped them a little with a liberal coating of silicone spray on the bedliner. This setup has worked all summer, loaded with chainsaw and equipment, tool box, chains, garden tools, boots, and at least 200 pounds of other odds and ends. The only improvement I would probably make on my next one, is to mount a roller system to make it slide easier.

Its almost embarrassing to mention after the description of the building process described above (and I think thats my next step /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif) but I was rather pleased at the effect that a sheet of cardboard I forgot to throw away at the dump was having, so all spring and summer I've been using it to pull hay bails from the front of the truck.

For the do-it-yourselfers, take a look at the 60" drawer slides at this site:

Could be used for a custom solution to truck bed access.

It's funny you should mention that idea. I too was using a sheet of cardboard to pull stuff out of the bed with. One day the cardboard got wet where I couldn't see it, and when I yanked on the cardboard to pull out the load, you guessed it, I landed on my butt holding a piece of soggy cardboard. That afternoon I came up with Plan B (see above).
