Was moving a pallet of wood with a L48 when 1 side of the QA popped out and I continued to curl the forks. Result: Badly bent QA. The main member supporting the QA is a round tube and that just twisted about 3/4" which was enough to make the 2 QA "ears" distort by about 4"+. The part is about $540 for a whole new QA so I was BUMMED. Stuck a piece of wood under the other lodaer linkage, curled under heavy pressure, and rebent it back to shape. This was last night, so now I will how successful I was. Anyone else bend these things?

Had a new L3240HST with SSQA. Removed bucket, attached forks and moved some rocks. One side came loose. Dropped forks and tried for hours to get the bucket reattached and/or forks, didn't happen. Could see arm was off on one side before hooking under attach lip. Talked to Kubota dealer mechanic. He talked about the big hammer he used sometimes to knock them back to same position. My big hammer wouldn't do it so I tried pushing one side against immovable rock. No luck. Barlows replaced it under warranty.
Some pictures.

Had some people respond that one may want to weld a straight piece of flat steel to the round tube for additional strength.
My pictures don't make it very clear of the problem but you may understand what they are supposed to be showing. I couldn't get the lower catch to engage on one side and the cylinder was out further on one side than the other.
