My son ran over a rock and it seems he bent the shaft on one side of the deck of our huskavarna. How does on go about straighten it?

I do not know of many peoploe that have had any sucess in straightening a bent shaft. Most replace the shaft assembly and remove the object that was struck to prevent any future occurances.

Go to this web site and select your model number and you will find a good parts break down.

Partstree.com - Genuine replacement parts for Toro, Echo, Husqvarna, Cub Cadet, Troy Bilt, Lawn Boy (Lawnboy), lawn equipment (lawn mowers, saws, blowers, trimmers, snow blowers) and Tecumseh, Kohler and Briggs and Stratton Engines.

We have a crank straitener at work. If it will fit in the jig you can usually get it close. If it is bent too bad then you have to replace it. Straitening comes with risks and that is why some shops won't touch it. It will never be perfect but it usually beats a new one in terms of cost. Also check your flywheel key...it probably sheared in the contact(sudden stop).

On closer inspection the shaft was fine it was the mower deck that got bent (sheet metal vs. steel rod) a quick fix with a pry bar seem to have done the trick.
