Though it does make me wonder how long below someone does come out with RF tracking ...... strike that I just remembered Milwaukee has come out with the One-Key tic for tracking tools (and others probably have similar). Seems life, art and comedy are imitating each other again

Can you walk us through your process for restoring something like a vice? I’m always amazed at your ability to turn junk into beautiful, functional tools.

I have restored a few including a 4in swiveling Wilton and a circa 30's 4.5in Rock Island. Quite fun to disassemble, clean, sandblast, paint and replace with new jaws if necessary.

As far as notching tool handles, I had one hammer with a slick varnished handle that was just miserable for slipping. I ended up dragging a coarse power hacksaw blade across it in two directions, and then gave it a quick rub down with my favorite hammer handle finish, 10w-40, which soaks right in and pretty much disappears. So I kind of like the grip marks for using when choked up on the handle explanation...

I decided to use this scrap piece of 3/4" plate for a little welding table

Here it is with two corners radiused and ready to have 6" heavy wall pipe welded for the pedestal.

old cast iron seeder wheel to be used for the base. Holes tapped for 5/8" bolts

Sprocket drilled for matching holes.
