Hi guys,
Well now I have created a NEW, PIA PROBLEM.
Was in the woods clearing brush.
A chunk of wood put a small hairline crack, in my hydraulic line. The one that goes from pump to hydraulic manifold.
Any ideas that can repair it, without taking it off.
It's just a very small drip at idle.
Thanks for any tips on this one.
My LIL brain is worn out, trying to figure this one out! Lol

If it's stuck in the woods and you're just trying to get it back to your garage (or wherever), and the leak is minor, just top it off and drive it back.

If it's a more substantial leak, to accomplish the same thing (get it out of the woods), dry the leak off as best as possible, wrap a rag around it, and wrap gorilla tape around the rag.

No matter what, the only way to properly fix it is to remove it and put a new one on.

I guess I’ve been lucky. I’ve pulled those connectors apart three times, but haven’t damaged a hose. I wonder if a section of hose and a couple of radiator clamps might patch it? But if it’s only dripping, it’d probably still be dripping. Hope you find a easy solution, but my guess is, replacement is the answer.

Thanks for the reply.
I did get it out of the woods.
It's in my garage. So glad I saw the leak, and drove her home.

I'm guessing also, remove and weld it.
Or replace it.
It's not easy to get to at all.
It's a steel line, magnet sticks right to it.
It's such a hairline crack, I can only see it oozing thru the paint.
Boy they put a nice coat of paint underneath!!!

Wonder if the hairline crack was already there, and maybe the piece of wood pushed it just enough to start the slow drip. Usually those lines are pretty durable re: things hitting them.

If the line is hard to get to, maybe check your other lines while you're working in there. If they are relatively cheap, might want to change some of the others out too as long as you're doing one if they don't look like they are in good condition.

Good idea! I will check them.
I was really hoping that there was a real good PATCH KIT. Lol

Replacing is definitely the best option however. I have seen thin pieces of rubber Hoseclamped over some pressurized leaks before that held up for quite some time. Not sure how much pressure you’re talking about at that particular fitting. But if it’s high pressure I wouldn’t mess around.

It's not high pressure.
It's at a welding shop, getting fixed.
If for some reason, that doesn't work.
I'll buy one.
