Bobcat order placed

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered myself a brand new Bobcat 873 Skid Steer Loader. I've attached a picture of a used 873 just for show. I'll take some pictures of mine when it arrives late December, early January.

I got it with the Hi-Flow Hydraulics, Suspension Seat, Hand Controls, Enclosed Cab w/Heat, and a 74" C/I Bucket.

Sorry Mark, but that Earthforce was just too rich for my wallet. I think this SSL will suit me just fine.

Congratulations on your new purchase. A couple of weeks ago a semi loaded with a half dozen brand new skidders passed me on the Interstate. All of them had a big US of A flag plastered on them. No extra charge, I'm sure. Looked real good.

Just got word today that my Bobcat should be delivered this week! Figures, it has been very dry here in Maryland, and now the week my Bobcat is coming, there is rain in the forecast Tue, Wed & Thu. I was hoping for decent weather when it arrives.

I took delivery of my Bobcat 873 SSL today. Its quite a different animal to run compared to my tractor -- that's for sure.

The Bobcat is the only other "tractor" I have any real experience with. I spent time on a couple of different models (can't remember the numbers), but nothing as big as your monster.

I like the way the loader arms are hinged high and way back on the machine. Gives incredible lift height and the bucket is right there in front of you. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

What exactly is its range of motion (how high, low), and just how much muscle can it apply to lifting the bucket? What tools besides the bucket did you get, or are planning to get?
