Just purchased 2 MEP-802a generators. I threw out a low bid on them not expecting to win, bur low and behold I won both :)

So now one will go on my new shop and I will probably try and sell the other because I need a bigger one for the house. Even though this would work in a pinch.

Both had level 2 resets, 1 in 2015 and 1 in 2016 and then they went into storage. Both had ~2 hours on the rebuild. I am going to repurpose the trailers eventually.

Here is one of them firing up. This is first start after new batteries and to my surprise it fired right up

All gauges work and generator is putting out correct voltage on all legs

How many watts are they? What do they run on? Look very cool.

I'd bid on them also. If you got them for a good price.....👍

5K Diesel

Prepper and surplus sites out there have them listed at $3500 and up without the trailers which is a stupid high price for such a low output.

Curious what kind of low bid won though.

I would have bid on them also if not just for the running gear, it sounds good. Seems like a low output for such a size machine tho............Mike

Are they 3 phase? Most surplus gens are 3 phase and some can be goofy voltages.

^^^ From one of the mil surplus sites ....

This model MEP-802A is a highly durable, battlefield ready generator. It is the perfect size for so many applications. The photos are representative of the actual generator you will get, but it will look very similar. All have very low hours (less than 100), which indicates they were only ran for maintenance purposes. NSN# 6115-01-274-7387.

I think the trailer might be more useful to many.

Great score!

Frequent power outages have thought about the same. 4 hour outage from storm yesterday. Trying to get the gumption to clear the trees from driveway this morning.

Those trailers are great. Use a similar one for the farm. Hydraulic and hand mechanical brakes are great with the tractor.

PM me if you decide to sell one. Go big orange
