Bought a Kubota L3400 4wd dt w/bucket. Mistake???

I bought a Kubota L3400 4wd dt w/bucket. I traded in my 140 Farmall.

I really liked the Farmall much better.

To each their own. The 140 is a good tractor can't knock it. What do you like about the Farmall?

The Farmall has way more ground clearance and it weighs more.
Kubota supposedly has more hp, 34 gross and 29 pto (the 140 Farmall has 24), but the L3400 is like a big riding mower. I've had the Kubota for 2 days and put about 2 hours on it, but I know I don't like it. I put the Kubota in the Farmer and Consumers Market Bulletin, but it will take a week for the ad to show up.

Does the 140 have a loader?

The 140 doesn't have a loader, but you could turn the scrape blade around an use it to push brush into a pile or push dirt into a ditch. The 140 with the blade turned around and backing into a pile of dirt to push it into a hole worked just fine.

The Kubota is just too small for a bucket. I have a scrape blade for it, but I'm not going to put it on the tractor unless of course I can't seel the Kubota, then I'll have to make the best of it.

Sorry you are disappointed with the Kubota. I go through a little "buyers remorse" for a while after I buy a large item like an auto or a tractor. And I'll bet others have also felt they made a mistake for a few days after they bought their tractors.

I had a Ford 8N before I bought a Kubota B7100. There were things about the 8N I liked better than the Kubota, such as ground clearance and the larger tires that allowed me to drive over larger fallen trees.

It took me a while to get used to the Kubota but after a few weeks of using it I began to like it more and more. Especially the front end loader part.

I bought a Kubota B7510 about a month ago with front end loader and power steering. It is slightly larger than the B7100 and 5 more engine HP and I really like it.

Give the Kubota a chance to show you what it can do. You may find that it grows on you once you get a little more used to it.

I must admit I still have times when I miss the old 8N but that is just nostalgia. It did "look" more like a tractor than the new Kubota does, but the Kubota sure gets a lot more work done in a day.

Thanks for that reply. I have decided not to operate the Kubota until after it hits the Market Bulletin, then if it doesn't sell I'll have to keep it and run it.

I know I am going to loose several hundred dollars, but the more I operate it, the more hours I'll put on it , the more I stand to loose.

I should have rented a tractor like this before buying it.

Just a little more info if you would. Like, is it new, did you try it before you bought it. It would appear you bought a machine that is smaller than you thought it would be. Just wondering how that came to be?

Well not really. You could only drive it around on the yard at the dealership. I didn't try it out until they delivered it to me yesterday.

The Kubota is rated at more Hp than the 140, but I can't find it.

After this I may rent whatever tractor I am interested in and put it through the paces.

Did you look at the Kubota Grand L series. My father has a L3710 eith FEL. This tractor is well built and feels very powerful. Perhaps you could speak to your dealer about a trade-in for a larger grand L series tractor.
