I bought a Bucket Solutions clamp on hitch for a previously owned
BX2230. There are some problems, first I had to weld on an additional steel rod to keep the hitch from riding on the cutting edge of the bucket as the hitch is designed to clamp onto a thicker bucket. This helped stabilize the hitch some, but it will still want to shift sideways when maneuvering a heavier trailer. The other issue is that the hitch and ball carrier will have the ball sticking quite a ways in front of the bucket leading edge - - usable for lighter trailers, but this still exacerbates the clamp strength issue.
On my
B3350, I welded a 2" receiver to the top of the bucket after reinforcing the top lip. This is useful for inserting a receiver mount tow hook, but for hitch use I had to make a drop down receiver to keep the bucket bottom off the ground when moving trailers. Also, welding on a 2" receiver, as I did, would get in the way of some grapple add-on's.
