Does Branson offer a front PTO or a front mount snowblower?

I did not see one, and thought for a compact size tractor, it should be common.

Am I wrong, or is a upgrade in the works?

Thanks

No front pto drive for the Kukje twins, many compacts do not have them. Most front mount Snow blowers run off a mid pto. They do not have that either. You can however use a rear mount pto snow blower. This is very comon. You will then still have your loader to move large mounds of snow. That my 2 cents

Dave,

If you have the hydraulics set up to handle a 4 n 1 bucket on the FEL, and the FEL has the skid steer type quick attach, you could probably run a hydraulicly operated snowblower like you find on Bobcats. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry to disappoint you but you will not have enough gpm. You may be able to do it with a PTO pump. You still will not have anywhere near what a Bobcat puts out. We are 28 to 45hp where they seem to average 50-70hp. Some one out there can probably shed some more light on this.

PS: DavesTractor: what do you think? Or do you ever get any snow?

Thanks Jay. I guess I didn't realize that there would be that much of a difference.

But hey, you just know that one of our conscientious TBN'ers will feel that this a challenge, and figure out an effecient and affordable way of making it work! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Your also looking at 1300.00 to 2500.00 for a 3-point snow blower vs 4200.00 to 6800.00 for a front mount hydraulic unit , plus all the additional parts/pump.

Chipperman, I agree that one would have to be real careful and check out the flow requirements of any potential high volume hydraulic device. A Bobcat 753 flows about 16gpm. That is twice what most CUTs flow. A 753 is about 43HP, but it has a huge pump. We rarely get snow, yet 45 minutes from us there is well over 10 feet of snow in the Lassen National Park. We can get to it easily, but it has a hard time getting to us!

Yooper Dave -

I knew I had recently read of a solution to a similar problem somewhere on TBN. Tonight, I found it again. In the Build It Yourself forum, look for the thread "Converting a Snowblower to Front Mount." They discuss the hydraulic idea there also. However, there is a link to a company, Lorenz Manufacturing, that makes kits for front mounting snowblowers. They run a shaft under the tractor to carry power forward from the rear PTO. I have no idea of price, but there are some photos on the Lorenz site that look pretty good.

Besides the cost, it looks like a bit of a chore to mount and dismount this setup. However, if you were going to keep the blower on all winter and didn't need the loader, it might be worth it.

Mahindra uses that setup on some of their compacts. I saw it on a 4110. Lorenz may even make it for them. As you mentioned you would wnat to leave it on for the season. DaveTractor how does it compare in price?
