I have a coyote CK3510 tractor.
It has a manual transmission and the shifting lever broke. It's a two-piece lever. And it broke where it goes into the top of the transmission.
Where it goes into the transmission there's four bolts. It looks like I could take that off to replace the lever.
Has anybody had to deal with this? Or does anybody know anything about this?
It's sitting out in the middle of the woods right now and it can't move.
Yay!!

Looks like it's as simple as pull the 4 bolts out and pull the lever out.

From the service manual:

I was hoping so.
I'm nervous about the bottom part of the shifter that fell off when it broke.
I hope it's just sitting right there.
Thank you for replying..

Looking at the parts diagram, there is a snap ring that should hold everything in place but I guess you'll know once you pull it apart.

You are lucky, That's a real common and universal manual transmission design. It's been around since I was a kid. Take out the 4 bolts - the problem and solution should be right there staring at you. Any broken piece might be sitting on the shifting rails. If not, fish for it.

We used to pull those 4 bolts daily on old trannys that were so worn they wouldn't shift. It's a nicely serviceable design. You may be able to move the shifting forks by hand enough to get it into gear to drive home.
NOTE: DO NOT select two gears at once!!

And nice to see It's just the shifter, not the transmission gears. Not uncommon for that shifting system to wear or break. Usually it involves someone tripping over the shift lever one too many times and bending or breaking the little round ball on the bottom of the gear shifter #13. Or sometimes one of the pins, detents, or springs needs attention. The pin #14 that goes through the brass bushing #14 holds the shift rod in place vertically. It is often sheared by forcing the lever.
If the rubber boot #19 gets old it will let rainwater into the transmission.

Parts 1-9 are the shifting forks and shifting rails. The shifter moves the forks along the rails, and the forks then move gears along the their shafts which also causes then to move into and out of engagement. All that takes place on shafts farther down. Rarely a need to go there.

Parts 10-19 are just the shifter handle parts which move the forks along the rails so that they in turn move the gears beneath them.

Not a computer or chip involved. It's all very mechanical.
