I've never adjusted the indicator rod since owning but being such a laid back day I decided to. I've read the manual and for no reason at all can explain why I'm unable to make this work. The indicator rod i can get adjusted but the plate I can't. Its almost like the plate isn't long enough. Photo attached is with the bucket level and you can see the plate is out of adjustment. This isn't a needed item but if its on here it might as work correctly. any thoughts?View attachment 651144

My Grand L4330 had a more basic bucket level mechanism, with about 6 inches of inner shaft protruding when the bucket was level. The brush bent it irreparably before I could figure it out...

That is weird.

Now I'm wondering if I've set the indicator plate/rod with the Kubota bucket on my L3560 (with the LA085 loader). I just walked out and looked at mine, and I could see how the problem would arise since with the SSQA plate sitting near vertical there doesn't look to be enough length to the indicator plate to aligned..... which is making me wonder if when I adjusted the plate to be useful it was with a different bucket.

Actually now that I think about it; when I set the plate indicator it was with my WR long bucket as I was going to need the indicator for digging a flat surface since the bucket doesn't have any flat spots on the top of the bucket parallel to the bucket's bottom. So it probably worked with that bucket as the SSQA plate on that bucket is further off vertical than the Kubota bucket that came with the tractor/loader......

Most of the time if the implement has a flat spot on top that's parallel to the implement's bottom (like the Kubota bucket, & pallet forks) I'm just using that as an indicator for level when on the ground. ..... so I learned something new from that video.

Dealer sent me a parts diagram to compare to see if its possible the indicator was installed incorrectly. Dealer told me the rod indicator assembly comes already installed from the factory. This is not a life or death situation, but now it has me curious why this setup isn't working per the manual. I guess I will have to drive by the dealership to compare because I can't find any decent photos online to compare. Nothing looks to be bent as well.

For what it's worth, if I were to snap a picture of mine I think it'd look almost exactly like yours when adjusted for the Kubota bucket. So I'll be interested in what you find out, but if I were to guess, I'd go with it being a minor oversight in the design in that it just won't align given the angle between the bucket floor and the SSQA plate on the Kubota bucket.

Part of the reason I generally don't use it much is that for it to work as designed/intended, it'd have to be realigned to level for each implement where the angle between the SSQA plate and the bottom of the implement is different from the one that was previously used to set level.

According to the manual the la555 has the old Grand 40 style rod tube. The la805 has this style and comes with the SSQA standard. How they missed this I don't have a clue...

My la805 has an indicator just like that and it works great. I will try to remember to look at it tomorrow and take a photo. Something's must be different.

agree something must be different ....wonder if that was a minor change they made in the last couple years that wasn't significant enough to really change anything on the top level part numbering/branding.
